Wow, long time no post! I took time off from blogging during our vacation at the beach. We splurged at the beach but we were soo active during our vacation I didn't stress too much about what I ate.

I am back in the groove of things now! Today I headed out early so I packed my breakfast and lunch.

I needed an afternoon pick me up so I grabbed a ice cream cone at chick fil a. Tonight I scrounged the pantry for some dinner and made some quinoa, black beans, cheese and quac.

5/17 was my birthday and was my last day to really splurge. What better time to treat yourself than your birthday?

I was still sick so I hand a handful of granola and headed to the doctor. After, I did a little shopping and had a salad outside.. The weather was beautiful! I only ate half and had the other half for dinner with one of my favorite local soups.. Roasted red pepper and Gouda cheese. Yummmm. It was the perfect feel better dinner. I then finished my bday off with the rest of my red velvet cake. It was a great bday despite being sick.

Ive been combatting a terrible cold so yesterdays's food was all about making me feel better. My body was craving vitamin C so I had a smoothie for lunch but asked for no added sugar. They put sooooooooo much sugar in smoothies so I usually avoid buying them at stores but I was desperate.

I had leftover linguine and clams but all I felt like having was chicken noodle soup for dinner :(

I also ate a dried fruit bar and a banana (not pictured)

Today was the last day the Dunns were visiting so we celebrated my birthday. They cooked me one of my favorite meals - linguine (whole wheat) with clams and white wine sauce.

And because it's my birthday I had my favorite - red velvet cake!! I ate half of it and saved the other half for my actual bday on Thursday.

5.14.12 Dinner

Matt's mom made us homemade minestrone.. Yum!!!

I then had a cut up apple with cinnamon. I love putting cinnamon on fruit!

5.14.12 Breakfast & Lunch & Snacks

Last night we came home and just snacked on natural popcorn and peanuts since we had such a late lunch. However, both MIL and I were feeling under the weather and both have some nasty postnasal drippy-ness today :(

Whenever I get this, I'm constantly wanting to be eating or drinking.. It makes it feel much better. So from what you can see, I've been having fruit/tea/cough drops all day.

Even though I wasn't feeling too well, I still managed to get out for a jog and complete my allotted training.

(I love these small 100 calorie portion sizes of guac. I only ate half of it with my carrots so it was only around 50 cals. It's nice to have these because it helps you have portion control with fatty avocados.)

Today was Greg's graduation and we went to celebrate. I had some really really good salmon and broccoli! Today i also had some fruit as a snack and ate granola for breakfast and a snack.

5.12.11 Dinner

Last night was SPLURGE night!! We went to a local BBQ joint. I ordered what I wanted but practiced portion control. The picture is after I was finished and what was left over.

Later (not pictured) I ate half a crepe with bananas, pb and choc chips. It was worth it!!

4.12.12 Breakfast & Lunch

Today we are in Durham celebrating my brother-in-law's graduation from duke! We has lunch with family at a great southern comfort food restaurant. I ordered the black bean cakes for my meal (I only ate one) and snacked a little on apps. I thought I did pretty well considering Mac n Cheese was on the menu!!

4.11.12 Dinner

We are babysitting a neighbor's daughter and we made homemade pizza with wheat dough. It was so good I actually had three pieces (I went back for one more after the pic). I also had a bowl of fresh fruit for dessert. Yum!

Matt and I had dinner at Crisp in the city after dropping Matt's mom off at her train to Durham. I was so hungry I ate the whole salad (but not all the dressing and I didn't eat any of the bread)

Today was a beautiful day, I ate both lunch and dinner outside :)

A couple of you had mentioned that I should try a different brand of Greek yogurt. I tried Fage 0% Greek yogurt and I love it!! And it has 10 grams less of sugar than stoneyfield.

This morning I walked/ran and was starving after my shower. I had some granola with banana and milk but ate it before I remembered to take a picture!!

I had lunch at a local Thai place with my mother-in-law.. Spicy basil chicken. Yum!!

We had a light dinner of fruit and toast with an egg and then grabbed some frozen yogurt for dessert.

5.8.12 Dinner

Matt made turkey meatballs again! I found that Trader Joes has much healthier tomato sauce and wheat pasta than our regular store.

These Target fruit bars are great for when I need something sweet!

For lunch I had combined my leftover salmon and leftover egg salad and ate it on wheat & flaxseed crackers. It was a surprisingly good mix!

Tonight we grilled some shrimp and Matt crisped up a corn tortilla on the grill so I could have a tostada! No frying necessary. :) and I had a major sweet tooth after and made my favorite dessert - banana, honey and cinnamon.
